2nd Lieutenant Paul J. Durborow was born April 22, 1922, and was the son of Edith Durborow. He had two brothers, Joseph Durborow, and 2nd LT John B. Durborow, who himself was shot down and killed over Sistedt, Germany, on April 8, 1944. He was from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
LT Durborow was serving as the Navigator aboard “Sparky,” B-17 tail #42-31723, of the 100th Bomb Group, 349th Bomb Squadron, when it was shot down over Halle, Germany, on July 30, 1944.
He is buried at the US Military Cemetery at Margraten, Holland.
