Paul Davis was Co-Pilot on board of B-17 #42-5899 'Sioux City Queen', shot down 5 January 1944.

"Lt. Kempton in a/c 42-5899 "Sioux City Queen", left the formation with one engine feathered and was attacked by figthers. The tail was shot up by the fighters and the crew bailed out. As many as seven parachutes were seen. "

A/C received heavy damage and crashed near Cartujac, France. Killed In Action (KIA)

He returned and indicated they were all out, then he took a pack of Lucky Strike cigarettes from his pocket, ripped them in half, put half in my jacket pocket, said "so-long" or something to that effect, and went to the bomb bay and jumped. A very cool character." - Norman P. Kempton, Pilot Unfortunately Davis did not survive.
