Palmer Cloyd Pontius
MilitaryDouglas C Pontius (son)
My father served proudly in World War II in the 8th AF, 95th BG, 336th Sq. He flew 30 bombing missions over Germany. He kept a pocket journal of his missions, which I have in my possession.
After the war, he married Violet E. Brown in April 1948, and started a family. They had two sons and one daughter. "Punch" worked as a car inspector for the Pennsylvania Railroad at the Enola Freight Yards until 1955, when he opened a TV and Appliance business in New Bloomfield, PA. He operated that business successfully until his retirement in the early 1990s.
(My sister and I would love to hear from anyone who flew with our father in the war, or family members of his crew, and I will update this bio with any new information that I find.)
