Washington, OK, USA | 8 May 2015 | Born to Brock Mire Dean and Beulah Ellen Berg Dean in McClain, County Ok. He grew up on a farm in the Newcastle community. He graduated from Newcastle High School in 1941. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps, as a radio operator on a B-24. After completing 25 combat missions in Europe, he returned home in March of 1945, and married his true love and best friend Myrna June Marcum on June 16, 1945. After he was discharged from the military he worked as an electrician and later was employed at Tinker Air Force base in procurement as an expediter where he worked until he retired after 33 years of service. They lived 35 years in Washington, Oklahoma where Odis and family were faithful members of the First Baptist Church and active in the community. His daughters attended and graduated from Washington Schools. He loved gardening and taking care of his yard. After retirement Odis and Myrna moved to Mission, Texas to be near their oldest daughter and family. They enjoyed traveling and visited every state except Hawaii. They were active members of McAllen First Baptist Church |
