Died

English Channel, approximately 40 miles due west of The Hague 12 August 1944 Survived a successful ditching of his damaged aircraft. He and the rest of the 10 man crew all escaped the sinking aircraft, however Van Munster and the radio operator drifted off from the rest of the crew before they could be rescued. It is possible that Van Munster was injured at the time of the ditching.
