Taking off from Gander 24 October 1942 B17F-20-BO 41-24530 deviated to the left and hit pillbox, lifted up then slid to a stop on a nearby runway. Pilot Adams and passenger McMurray were injured. Aircraft extensively damaged and accident is listed as a ferry loss.
