Lonnie Lewis

Military

Lonnie Lewis was working on his parents' farm in Yazoo County, Mississippi in 1940. He enlisted in August 1942 and was sent overseas in 1943 and assigned to the 389th Bomb Group in England. He was a Gunner on B-24J #42-100046 'Patsy Ann' when it crashed shortly after take-off, believed due to severe icing conditions on a mission to Gilze-Rijen airfield, Holland on 10 February 1944. Killed in Action (KIA).
