Lloyd Williams enlisted in the Air Corps in August 1942. After completing aerial gunnery training, he was sent overseas ans assigned to the 448th Bomb Group/713th Bomb Squadron in Seething, England. He completed 30 missions over Europe with the crew of Lt James J. Bell and had been promoted as a Staff Sergeant in May 1944.
