Lincoln S Ricker

He was originally a crew member of Lt. Ray Ness who completed 35 missions He flew with another crew on the last missions and was shot down and killed.
Lincoln Ricker was born in 1917 in Hempstead, New York. He was the son of Edward and Mary Ricker. He had two sisters (Ethel and Genevieve) and one brother (Edward.) He grew up in Lynbrook, New York. After graduating from high school, he worked as a salesman. He entered the service on 30 December 1940, and he married in July of 1944. On 2 October 1944, he was serving as a replacement on a B-24 piloted by Dan W. Means. German fighters attacked the bomber near Hamm Germany. Two engines were set on fire. Three members of the crew were able to bail out, but the others, including Lincoln, perished. Dan W Means, the pilot, Britt Maxwell, the tail gunner, and Raymond Rhodes, the flight engineer and top gunner, are also buried at the Ardennes American Cemetery.
