Leroy B Hare
MilitaryHe served during World War II in the Army Air Corps from 12/04/1942 to 10/19/1945 flying thirty missions over Germany including D-Day over Normandy.
Prisoner of War (POW) Crashed near Gnotsch on 11/2/44 in B-17 'Man O War II' 42-38083.
Pilot Leroy Hare and three other members of on 322dn Sqdn's 'Man O' War' survived the crash after being shot down on the Merseburg raid. Held at Stalag Luft 1 Barth-Vogelsang, Prussia.
He later served in Japan with the National Guard as commander of the Air Division. After leaving the Service he first owned a Chevron station in Camarillo California and then headed the Water Co. at Bass Lake.
