Removed association with 526th Bomb Squadron.
Source: 379th BG researcher Mervyn Wilson:
'Alexander Brown was not available for the mission of 12 August 1943 for unknown reasons. His place was taken by Lt. Kurt W. Freund who belonged to a different Squadron, namely the 524BS. This was first and last time Lt. Freund flew operationally either with the 526BS or the 379BG as far as I can tell. I attach a Battle Casualty Report confirming Lt Freund ‘s membership of 524BS while the rest of the MIA crew came from 526BS who had previously flown all of their missions with Lt. Alexander Brown.'
