Sgt. Joseph J. Rubin was a passenger on the B-24J #42-100001 "Drawers" that crashed on a local training flight on 28 January 1944, killing Sgt. Rubin and 4 others.
He was assigned to the medical section of the 487th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group.
Under duress of the smoke, fire, and order to abandon ship, he was overcome with fear and was unable to jump. He perished in the crash.
He's buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Plot C Row 4 Grave 72.
