Crew chief on B-17 'Solid Sender'. He named the B-17 'V-Mail, Gets There Fastest', which was replaced by 'Solid Sender'. 'Solid Sender' continued serve the US after the war when Terrana and flight crew flew her to Stalag I to bring home 30 Prisoner of War (POW)s, which were flown to Lucky Strike, FR.
