Killed when aircraft was shot down by German fighters and crashed near Marzhausen/Hebenshausen, Germany.

Originally buried by the Germans in the cemetery of Hebenshausen, Germany. After the war his remains were recovered and re-interred for a time in the Ardennes American Cemetery. After the war his remains were repatriated to Pennsylvannia.
