Interned in Turkey while on TDY to 9thAF for Ploesti raid on 1 August 1943 in B-24 42-40744 He was later released.



Killed in Action (KIA) on 9 September 1944 in Skorve, Norway, after crashing B-24 Liberator #42-52196 on a carpetbagger mission, during a detachment to Leuchars to take part in Operation ball- the resupply of resistance fighters in Norway.
