Shot down 22 December 1943 in B-24 #42-7533 'Holiday Mess II' returning from a raid on Muenster, Prisoner of War (POW).



Earlier on 1 October 1943, in B-24 #41-23936 'Queen Anne' was attacked by fighters on bombing run on Wiener, Austria. Pilot Oakley crash landed in British held territory near Foggia, Italy. This unit was on temporary duty with the 9th AAC.
