Salina, KS, USA 1 January 1990 John C. Kieffer BELLEVILLE - John C. Kieffer, 64, Belleville, died Monday, Jan 1, 1990, at Asbury-Salina Regional Medical Center, Salina. Mr. Kieffer was born Aug. 18,1925, on a farm near Palmer. He was a retired mechanic and plumber. He was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree of the Knights, and was a scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 199, all of Belleville. A daughter, Janice, died in 1988. Survivors include his wife, Virginia of the home; two sons, Michael of Jacksonville, Ark., and Gregory of Manhattan; two daughters, Catherine Runge of Emporia and Lori Arnold of Belleville; four brothers, Henry of Colby, Dave of Hartford City, Ind., Tom of Belleville and Jim of Sun City, Calif.; six sisters, Thresa Baza of Randall, Judy Meis of Chapel, Neb., Marilyn Wilson of Lamed, and Ann Danielson, Mary Popelka and Marge Walker, all of Belleville; his stepmother, Magdalen Kieffer of Belleville; and eight grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Edwards Catholic Church, the Rev. Henry Kieffer officiating. Burial will be in the St. George Cemetery in Munden. A parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Tibbetts- Fischer Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Edwards Church or the American Kidney Foundation. Visitation is at the funeral home.
