Killed in Action on 13-Nov-43 as pilot of P-47D #42-8626 [YF:W] "Nuisance", 355FG/358FS when trying to make an emergency landing after hit by FW190 A-6 (Gerd Wiegand JG26 stab 4) just west of Lemelerveld, Holland while on a mission to provide escort to B-17s attacking at Bremen. The aircraft crashed at Lemelerveld, Holland. The Germans recovered his remains from the wreckage and they buried him in the General Cemetery of Dalfsen, Holland.
