James Roy Hollyfield

Military

James Hollyfield served during WWII in the 95th BG/336th BS. Having re-enlisted after the war, he was killed on 9 January 1951 during a night intruder mission with the 13th Bomb Squadron.

He was Tail Gunner on B-26B Intruder Serial 41-39574, hit by Anti-aircraft fire, lost contact en route to target area and crashed 13miles East of Suwon, Korea. Of the 3-man crew, another was killed, the third one survived.
