Staff Sergeant James Patton Goff of the 303rd Bomb Group mends Staff Sergeant Lawrence W. Isham's trousers. Passed for publication 9 Apr 1943.
Printed caption on reverse: 'Sewing session at an American airfield in Britain. On left is S/Sgt. Lawrence W. Isham, aged 21, of Watertown, New York, R.2., a gunner with the U.S. Army Air Force. He has been on 14 raids and has won the Air Medal. His mother, Mrs. Cora Isham lives at Watertown. Sergt. Isham, who was educated at Copenhagen Central School, Copenhagen, N.Y. says "I'm having a grand time off killing square-heads." On right, using the needle, is S/Sgt. James Patton Goffe, aged 22, who is also a gunner. He has the Air Medal, and 13 raids to his credit. He comes from Winter St., Lucedale, Mississippi, where his parents Mr. & Mrs. James R. Goffe reside. He was formerly a ship's fitter with the Alabama Shipbuilding Corp., Mobile, Ala. U.77 & 77a. Not to be published before 20th April 1943.'
