Prisoner of War (POW) crashed at Letterhouten on 22 May 44 in P-47 #4225730 Evaded capture through the Belgium Underground until 12 July 1944 when he was captured by the Gestapo and imprisoned in St. Gilles prison in Brussels. . He escaped when the train carrying them out of the city derailed on 12 Sept 44Evaded (EVD)
