Description

This mission is composed of two elements. The first element is composed of 20 B-26s from 322BG despatched to bomb the shipyards at Le Trait France. 19 are effective on the target. There are no losses or claims, but 14 aircraft are damaged and one airman is Wounded in Action (WIA)



The sesond element is composed of 35 B-26s from 323BG despatched to bomb the German airfield at Beaumont/Le Roger, France. 32 are effective on the target. 1 B-26 crashes with engine trouble at Bury St. Edmunds having been diverted there beacuse of weather conditions at its home field at Earls Colne. The aircraft is declared to be Damaged Beyond Repair (DBR)-4KOM 1RTD. No MACR issued.
