Lt. Luther Avakian. 352nd Fighter Squadron. P-47D 42-76195 SX-Y "Scotty Bill". Photo shows flak damage to left tailplane/elevator. Lt Avakian was not so lucky on 7 June 1944 when he was killed in action whilst flying this a/c.
