Mission Details

Notes: This is the last combat mission flown in the war by the 453 BG. They have flown a total of 259 missions; 6,655 sorties and dropped 15,804 tons of bombs. The 733rd Bomb Squadron completed 82 consecutive missions without a loss, a record for the 8th AF. They recorded 58 aircraft as MIA. Personnel will leave the UK on 9 May 45 and be sent to New Castle Airfield in Delaware. The group was inactivated on 12 Sep 1945.
