Steve Ananian's P-51D 44-14734 6N-K "Baby Mine" comes to grief on take-off at Fowlmere due to engine failure. Pilot Lt. Bill Guyton was unhurt but the plane was not repaired, being used as spare parts. Please note that this photo, appearing in Roger Freeman's "Mighty Eighth", is incorrectly captioned in respect of the aircraft nickname.
