Here are pictures of Thunderbolts P-47s, the famous American fighter planes, which escort Flying Fortresses on their daylight missions over Occupied Europe. Photo shows:- Mr. Hearst attends briefing before the day's mission. Lt. Col. James J. Stone, Jr., Westfield, N.J., is addressing the pilotsin the headquarters' briefing room prior to their escort mission with the Flying Fortresses.
