Rood, pilot of one of the B-17 Flying Fortress bombers of the U.S. Eighth Air Force which raided Regensburg, landed at a base in North Africa, and returned a week later to Britain, bombing Bordeaux en route, seen at a bomber station of the U.S.A.A.F. "somewhere in England", soon after landing. He is holding his Fortress's new mascot - "Eager" - a terrier which joined the crew in North Africa, where Lt. Rood, whose home is in Raleigh, N.C., obtained his red fez. TET 259971. 25-8-43-U.'
