A B-17 Flying Fortress (OE-Z, serial number 42-30353) of the 335th Bomb Squadron, 95th Bomb Group flies low over Marrakesh, Morocco, after the Regensburg shuttle mission, 17 August 1943. The rectangle of gardens at the top of the frame is now known as Jardins de l’Agdal. Koutoubia Mosque is a large building mid-right of frame. The focus of roads mid frame is at Hammam Dar el-Bach’s. Although 95th Bomb Group aircraft landed at Telerghma and Bone airfields in Algeria after bombing Regensburg, several aircraft that were damaged in the course of the mission, flew to Marrakesh for repairs before returning to the UK.
