A battle damaged B-17 Flying Fortress of the 100th Bomb Group. March 19,1944 then Lt John P. "49 Missions" Gibbons was flying "Miss Irish" on a "no ball" mission and was hit by an 88mm shell in the radio room. T/Sgt Ed Walker was blown out of the plane and KIA. One of the more remarkable landings made in a damaged aircraft during WW 2.
