The vehicle in the foreground is a Fordson WOT 1 fire tender. This was a vehicle of British manufacture - seen here in service with the 56th Fighter Group. When the United States Eighth Air Force units initially arrived at former RAF stations, it was customary to employ equipment which had been used by RAF ground support crews.
