The duplicate print is taken from a negative copy of a 35mm slide. "Tar Baby" was name given to this a/c previously named "Jackie" by Capt. John W. (Wild Bill) Crump of the 360th FS. Lt. Robert P. Schmidt inherited the a/c from Bill and renamed it in view of his home state, North Carolina, the "Tar Heel" state. (Schmidt is flying the ship in this shot).
