P-47 42-26860 of 512th Fighter Squadron, 406th Fighter Group, on final approach at airfield Y-29 near Asche, Belgium. Still photo taken from movie shot by USAAF film crew dated 16 February 1945. Note that the name "Angie" has apparently been removed and the squadron yellow nose flash has been painted around the pinup on the cowling. Compare with the other picture of this aircraft in this collection. Also note that the aircraft has the olive drab and gray empennage and right wing, parts salvaged from older Thunderbolts to keep this rugged warbird flying.
