IMAGEMaster Sergeant J P Wellmaker cleans the guns of a B-17G Flying Fortress (LL-E, serial number 43-37552) nicknamed "The Peacemaker" of the 401st Bomb Squadron, 91st Bomb Group at Bassingbourn whilst a farmer's wife herds a flock of ducks across the base. The cheek guns on either side of the nose were nicknamed "Mary Lou." Written on slide casing: '91 BG M/Sgt JF Hallmaker cleans guns.' US Official caption: "K 2087- M/Sgt J P Wellmaker cleans 50 cal machine guns on a Boeign B-17 whilst an English farm wife herds her ducks away from the plane at a base in England.'
