Recently riffed after the end of WWII, Dad returned home to 163 Henderson Street in Hot Springs to see his parents and 2 sisters, Carolyn Bob and Analee Athanas. You can just make out the Lieutenant bars in his lapels. He attended Henderson College for 1 year. He planned to open a BBQ restaurant in his father’s footsteps (who owned Tom’s BBQ, nka Rocky’s Pizza) in Hot Springs, AR. BUT his Dad refused to share his secret BBQ recipe with him. Miffed, Dad returned to the USAF as a Staff Sergeant but quickly became a Captain. (Athas Demetrius Athanas SR. died without sharing his secret BBQ recipe with anyone. It is lost forever.)

Dad’s own photos and documents he left to me and my sister in his Will (she didn’t have a place to store them and I did, so I kept them to this day).

Family photos Mom took and left to us when she predeceased Dad. I turned out to be the keeper of all family photos and documents.
