MacDonald of 111 Green Street, San Francisco, California, commanding officer of the 305th Bombardment Group, has just returned from landing the Flying Fortress of the First Air Division in the Eighth Air Force attack on German Army headquarters and training station near Zossen. Describing the mission, Colonel MacDonald said, "There was a lot of haze and smoke from previous bombing over the target, but we had a visual bomb run and I think we hit it." Pictures taken during the attack confirmed his opinion of the 305th's bombing accuracy, showing several direct hits on the group's aiming point.' Handwritten caption on reverse: '3/3/43.'
