During a reunion of the 367th Fighter Group Major Laurence "Scrappy" Blumer presented his crew chief Lee Hill a print of a painting by John C. Valo titled "Duel Over Duren". The print depicts "The Fastest Ace in the West" Larry Scrappy Blumer in a dogfight with his Lockheed P-38 Lightning Scrapiron 4 shooting down his seventh aerial victory a Luftwaffe FW-190 over Duren Germany on 19 November 1944. That battle earned Scrappy a Silver Star.
