2LT William J. Kipp, Bombardier on B17G 42-97086 took off, with a crew of 10, from Station 468, England on a bombing mission over Choszczno, Poland. Over the Danish Peninsula they were hit by ground anti-aircraft fire which knocked out two of their engines. They crashed near Osterby, Germany.
