"Both targets covered with compact clusters of bombs is the story told by this picture taken 3 Sep 44 as 8th USAAF bombers attacked gun emplacements and a fortress on the Brest, France Peninsula. Bombs are crashing into gun sites on the rocky coast and when the smoke clears from the gun emplacements, concentrations covering the large fortress farther inland can be seen."
