"A bridge linking the peninsula with the mainland at Brest, France, was rendered useless by Martin B-26 Marauders and Douglas A-20 Havocs of the 9th AF which attacked the port 3 Sep 44. In an example of precision bombing, the 9th medium and light bombers left part of the bridge structure dangling in the water. The result is visible in the left center of the picture where a gap near the peninsula side marks the destruction."
