Hit heavily by American Boeing B-17 Flying Fortresses of the 8th AF on 3 and 15 Sept 43 and again on 31 Dec 43, this vital factory was so badly damaged that subsequent repairs had still not enabled it to recover more than a fraction of its former activity by the time American troops reached Paris."
