"A formation of 91st Bomb Group Boeing B-17 Flying Fortresses wings its way toward the target - an enemy installation somewhere in Europe. 5 August 1944." Silver B-17G's include 42-97304 "Priority Gal", 42-97276 "Sweet 17 - The Spirit of St. Louis", 42-107040 "Shirley Jean", and 43-37625 "Cheri". The similarities in this formation and the one in colour, Roger Freeman Collection FRE 5728, suggest the lead aircraft of the lead element being the 42-31909. The date should also be at or before 31 July 1944, when 42-97304 was lost.
