IMAGECaptain William J. Maguire flew with the 351st Fighter Squadron/353rd Fighter Group, 8th AAF. Maguire was a squadron ace shooting down 7 enemy aircraft in combat. Maguire flew first P-47D named "Boston Bull" and later a P-51D "Lil Boston Bull". Tragically, he and Col. Ben Rimerman were killed in a flying accident when their modified P-51B ground rolled on landing August 11, 1945.
