Captain Don Gentile and his younger sister, Edith, upon his homecoming in June of 1944. Edith hadn't seen her brother in almost four years since his last leave in September of 1940. When Don arrived at his home in Piqua, Ohio, it was raining and can be noticed by the wet spots on his hat and the rain coat that Edith holds.
