Letter written to Lt. Francis Eshelman's parent's by his crew Chief S/Sgt Thomas R. Robinson. December 21-1944 Mr. Eshelman, I'm very sorry I haven't answered your letter any sooner than I have but Lt. Eshelman was already back when I received your letter. I appreciate your writing me very much. I sure did hate to see Lt. Eshelman go down but I was sure glad to see him return o.k. When I heard that he was back I really felt good. Well, I was only trying to do my job as it should be done. Your son is a swell fellow and he was a swell fellow to work for. There isn't anything I wouldn't have done for him. Where is he stationed now? He talked as if he were through flying now That Jerry he got helped toward the six hundred that we have now. That is how many the Group has now. He had been talking about when he was planning on going home. He said if he finished when he had planned he would be home for Christmas. Well, I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Tell Lt. Ehselman that I would like to see him and that I think of him often. Well, I guess I'll have to close for now. A Friend S/Sgt Robinson
