My father was a good friend of "Jack" Russell as he was known back in Baldwin, New York, and told me stories about him joining the USCG Academy before going to Canada to become a pilot in the RCAF during World War II. He was American, but through my research his father Stanley Alexander Scott Russell was from Kingston, Jamaica, BWI, and became a naturalized US citizen.
