Crew #731 (Richard Baynes Crew) enlisted men Sitting Left to Right: John Gattis (WG), Lester Walters (FE), Harvey Walton (WG), Linwood Wheeler (BTG), Lester Nichoson (R/O) Standing: Harold Bailey (TG) The serial number on the aircraft appears to be 42-140666. The only problem with that is not a number that was issued to any U.S. aircraft, B-24 or not. The model appears to say "B-24-J-C.O. 61" If you translate that to B-24J-61-CO, those serial numbers were 42-99986 thru 42-100035. The photo was taken stateside, so the aircraft was not assigned to the 466th BG
