Translation (plaque is located at site where B-17 "Sara Jane" was crash-landed May 7, 1944, by crew, piloted by Lt. Clarence Darnell, co-piloted by 2d Lt. John Eric Jones): On 7 May 1944 an American bomber made behind the next farm on the Kooiweg, an emergency landing. Four crew members bailed out by parachute; the underground took care of them. The other five crew members were captured. All did survive the war."
