P-51 Mustang E9-B serial no. 42-106688 nicknamed 'Clara Ann' of Capt. Hugh D. Chapman. Piloted by Lt. Norman L. Smith, the plane belly-landed on 10th Sept. 1944 at Montdidier, France. On landing Smith narrowly missed a live 500 pound bomb and later made it back to England. Museum object reference no. BAM_0416
