P-47 razorback '27' 42-75971 'Ruthless Ruthie'. The mount of eight-kill ace Lt George P Novotny from the 317th FS/325th FG also had the name 'Lady Jane VI' on right side of nose. Here seen with Crew Chief R E Ebert at Lesina, Italy 1943. It later became the mount of 2nd Lt Lloyd Hathcock, 301st FS - 332ndFG. This being one of the first Jugs received by the 332nd of the famous Tuskegee Airmen, all coloured afro-american Fighter Group. In May, 1944 Hathcock became disoriented and landed in an airport still occupied by the Germans who took it for testing.
