This is the "Flyin Hobo" a B-17 - 305BS, 366BG, 40th. WING, out of Chelveston UK. Meredith Matzenbacher was the co-pilot. It was shot down over Bremen by German 190's on 11/26/1943 killing 8, 1 survived the crash becoming a POW. By accounts from the survivor, the right gunner, Matzenbacher the co-pilot tried to eject but could not and died on the raid.
